First Lady Advocates Gender-Sensitive Curriculum in Education

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has called for the integration of gender equity into educational systems to drive societal change and reduce violence against women and girls. Speaking at the launch of the We Are Equal Campaign by the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development in Angola, she emphasized the need to educate boys and men to value women as equals and highlighted the Alternative High School for Girls as the campaign's focus. She stressed that early education must instill values of respect, empathy, and understanding, and called for collective commitment to dismantling gender stereotypes. The event, attended by several African First Ladies, aimed to combat child and youth violence through gender-equitable education, with leaders reaffirming their dedication to ending gender-based violence and promoting equal opportunities across the continent.
