First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in her 2023 message at the State House, expressed hope that 2024 would be a glorious year for Nigerians. Speaking during a Christmas party for children from Nana Berry Orphanage, she urged parents to instill hope and moral values in their children, rather than speak of poverty. Emphasizing the importance of building a positive mindset in young ones, she encouraged wealthy Nigerians to support the less privileged. Mrs. Tinubu also shared plans to adopt a different orphanage each year to give children a sense of belonging and hope for a better future.

The Federal Government terminated the contract with Reynolds Construction Company for the ninety-eight-kilometer Oyo to Ogbomoso road project due to prolonged delays that caused severe hardship for commuters and hindered local economic activities, with Works Minister Dave Umahi assuring stakeholders in Ibadan that the project will soon be re-awarded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. During the same stakeholders' meeting, participants also urged the government to expedite the rehabilitation of other regional routes like the Ibadan to Ilesa dual carriageway, while Umahi separately announced plans to rebuild the remaining eighteen-kilometer section of the seventy-eight-kilometer Lagos to Ota to Abeokuta expressway using reinforced concrete pavement after eight years of stalled progress by Julius Berger.
