First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged the enactment of stronger laws and tougher sanctions against rape, sexual abuse, and other forms of gender-based violence. Speaking at the 1st Gender and Social Norms Summit, organized by the United Nations Population Fund in collaboration with her office, she emphasized the need for state-specific action plans, adequate budget allocations, and tailored strategies to address gender-based violence within diverse cultural and social contexts. She called on stakeholders, including governors' wives, to work together in raising awareness, sharing best practices, and ensuring effective prevention and response strategies.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has congratulated newly sworn-in Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, describing her appointment as proof that any Nigerian girl or woman can reach the pinnacle of her career through education, hard work, dedication, and integrity. In her message, Mrs. Tinubu praised Justice Kekere-Ekun as a worthy role model and expressed hope that her tenure would bring continued success, innovation, and advancement of justice for all.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu met with wives of state governors, who serve as Renewed Hope Initiative state coordinators, to brief them on ongoing support programmes aimed at improving family livelihoods. She announced the upcoming launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Programme on August 22 2024, which will give 50,000 naira grants to 1,000 petty traders in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to boost small businesses. Mrs. Tinubu also revealed plans to partner with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the National Agricultural Development Fund to train female farmers nationwide
